Volume 8: NEWS FROM THE KITCHEN
Summer brings new beginnings to the farm and we are delighted to share...
The Fowlescombe Farm ethos rests on three pillars: regeneration, food and a new kind of light-touch luxury. Regeneration, not only in the soil but in the body and the mind. Food, because we adore it, and because we believe it connects everything. And a gentler vision of luxury that finds its feet in authenticity and care, rather than unnecessary excess.
Fowlescombe Farm quietly redefines what luxury can look like
We haven’t built from scratch. Instead, we have restored what was already here, reworking the old barns with sensitivity and keeping the shape of the farm intact in a way that adds a new chapter to a long story.
Luxury here comes from proximity to the land, to the rhythm of the farm, to stripping everything back. You’ll eat what’s in season, what the garden and fields can give at that moment in time. We’ll stir the herbs and hedgerow finds of the day’s foraging endeavours into your cocktail while you unlace your boots.
Like our food and our suites, our activities reflect our desire to tread softly. Stargazing on Dartmoor brings a level of awe no screen can replicate, while rainforest pockets of the national park that are often overlooked are celebrated for the rich, rare ecosystems they are.
You might find yourself helping lay Devon hedgerows that hold whole worlds of life inside them, or learning how regenerative farming works in real time. These aren’t experiences designed to entertain on a surface level, but to immerse and help you understand the place…and your place in it.
We are seeking to build a more experiential and generous version of luxury that gives back more than it takes away. Come and experience it with us.
