There comes a point in summer when everything arrives at once. The courgettes won’t stop coming. The tomatoes run amok in the greenhouse, vines climbing higher than anyone anticipated. The hedgerows finally burst with the berries we’ve been waiting for.
When the garden’s bounty is in full summer flow and the evenings are warm, the only sensible thing to do is set a long table somewhere green and gather.
SUMMER FEASTS
Join us for a summer evening beneath the orchard trees: a welcome drink sourced from the garden, a tour of the farm, and a long-table feast cooked over flame by Elly Wentworth and her team. The menu will be decided by whatever Shelley and Rosie have declared ready that week: vegetables picked that morning, slow-reared meat from the farm, herbs from beds that are in full flower, and a few things foraged from the estate’s wilder edges.
Good wine. Good people sharing one long table. The last of the day’s light through the trees.
Come and help us eat summer.
