On the Farm
Experiences on the farm are included in every stay, and they are where much of the magic of Fowlescombe lives. Think of it as the full range of a very good day: something learned, something made, something to slow you down.
The activities calendar changes regularly, depending on the season and what the farm needs. Here is a glimpse of what a week on the farm might look like.
The Farm Tour
Led by the people who work this land, farm tours are a chance to get closer to our rare breed animals and learn about the regenerative farming principles we live by.
Baking Bread
Join the kitchen in baking bread for the day ahead, working with herbs sourced from the beds just beyond the kitchen door.
The Compost Cycle
Join Shelley for a closer look at composting, from turning and layering to understanding how waste becomes nourishment for the gardens in seasons to come.
Bespoke Experiences
Bespoke experiences offer something a little more personal. Tailored outings arranged just for you, personally guided and bookable in advance. The kind of experiences that turn a very good stay into a very big adventure.
Some take place here at the farm; others lead you out into the wider landscape. Whether it's learning the heritage art of stone walling, paddleboarding a tidal estuary to the pub, or stargazing over the moors on a clear night, each takes you deeper into Devon.

Old Ways, New Walls
£150 up to 4 people (2 hours)
A hands-on introduction to a traditional craft that has shaped the Fowlescombe you see today. Work with our resident stonemason Mark, using stone gathered from our own quarry, to build walls that will stand here for centuries to come.
A Table in the Woods
£75 per person
A stroll along woodland trails leads to your own private picnic place, with a spread of farm-sourced fayre and a table dressed for the occasion. Best enjoyed with the sense that you have absolutely nowhere else to be for as long as you like.
Paddle to the Pub
£160 per person (half day)
At the top of a tidal creek on the Salcombe estuary sits South Pool, a tiny community intrinsically linked to the tides. Guided by our paddle board instructor, you’ll drift along local waters to the village, with drinks at the Millbrook; a quintessential Devon local.
