A Weekend of Wellness

Wellness is stitched into the fabric of the farm year-round. In the slow mornings and the garden-picked plates. But our January Wellness Weekend is a more curated pause to start your year as you mean to go on. Deeper breaths, fuller plates, Devon air, and a head-start on that elusive sense of balance.

16th – 18th January 2025

Book your winter wellness stay in Devon

There’s a kind of wellness you won’t find inside four walls. The kind that comes from cold sea air and wild, open skies. From wandering in the garden you have just eaten lunch from, from stretching your body beneath the sky, and from walking long and slow in Dartmoor’s granite silence until your shoulders drop.

The January Wellness Weekend at Fowlescombe Farm is about the restorative power of time spent well: moving gently, eating joyfully, breathing deeper and letting the land do what it does best: regenerating, helping you come back to yourself, in the same way it does when given time to pause.

Friday 16th January

Arrive & Exhale

Slip off the stresses, one layer at a time. Your stay begins with time to settle into a slower pace, before yoga in the Greenhouse eases you into the evening. A chat with the gardener and the chef on how good food and good soil might just be the secret to living well leads perfectly into dinner.

This isn’t ‘wellness food’ in the traditional sense, but rather nourishing, flavourful plates full of goodness sourced from the soil and the sea we know well. The kind of food that fills rather than flattens, like that served by a family friend who just so happens to be an exceptional cook, on a weekend sleepover that leaves you feeling contentedly full and beautifully taken care of. After all, January is for small joys not diets.

Saturday 17th January

Breathe & Roam

A day to air it all out. Saturday begins with yoga as the sun comes up over the Greenhouse, before a hearty breakfast that fills you up without weighing you down. A two-hour breathwork workshop comes next, exploring the power of the breath as a tool for nervous system regulation. Move through gentle restorative techniques, energising methods, and a balancing practice, leaving with an understanding of how to harness the power of breathing for calm and clarity once daily life resumes.

Come afternoon, it’s boots on for a long, soul-stirring group hike on Dartmoor with George as your guide, before returning to the peace of the farm for hot showers and another nourishing night in the Refectory.

Sunday 18th January

Plunge & Replenish

A weekend of natural wellness closes with one final restorative and rejuvenating practice: a morning dip in the sea at nearby Mothecombe, one of our most adored hidden coves. Icy, exhilarating and just the thing to blow away the cobwebs, your bravery rewarded with time to warm your bones in a wood-fired sauna on the sand. With hot drinks in hand, and a quietly smug sense of satisfaction, it’s back to the farm for one final breakfast.

With cheeks pink from the cold and bellies full, you’ll head home grounded, rested, and ready for the year ahead.

Book your stay to rest, retreat and start 2026 well.
